Serviced Offices vs Traditional Offices

As the effects of climate change grow ever greater and more widespread, the business world is increasingly obliged to become part of the solution rather than the problem. A large office space may house hundreds of people for a large portion of the day, making office buildings a huge source of consumption. Corporate House, the premier supplier of serviced offices in Brisbane and the Gold Coast, are committed to reducing the environmental impact of our properties and have designed our spaces with this firmly in mind.

The National Australian Built Environment Rating System (NABERS) is a federal initiative that measures the environmental performance of buildings. NABERS office design ratings are calculated after careful evaluation of both the environmental aspects of a building and significant amounts of related data. Some of the criteria include:

  • Management
  • Indoor environment quality
  • Energy
  • Transport
  • Water
  • Materials
  • Land use and ecology
  • Emissions

Corporate House strive to reflect the same green values that NABERS promote and our most recent set of serviced offices in Fortitude Valley received a 4.5 star rating. Similarly, another independent organization, the Green Building Council Australia, gave the same building a 5 star for Green Star office design.

These impressive rankings stem from a successful and concerted effort to reduce our carbon footprint, minimise water use and design our serviced offices in Brisbane and the Gold Coast in such a way that they facilitate sustainability.

We also hope that our results encourage a similar commitment to sustainability in our tenants, so together we can do our part for the environment in Australia.

If there is a greener alternative to our serviced offices, it is our virtual offices in Brisbane and the Gold Coast. These encourage businesses to work remotely, which is great for the environment in many ways. Having fewer commuters on the road results in a significant decrease in carbon emissions and having fewer workers in office buildings reduces the consumption of utilities such as electricity and water.

The good news for our clients is that sustainability increases affordability. Whether you occupy a shared office space in Varsity Lakes or rent a virtual office in Fortitude Valley, you can save money at the same time as helping save the environment. Green designs and decision making lead to a reduction in water, electricity and gas bills – savings which Corporate House pass on to tenants.

With buildings designed to NABERS strict standards, shared office space in Brisbane and virtual offices in Brisbane and the Gold Coast, Corporate House are putting our green ideals into practice and helping the region become that much friendlier to the environment we all share.
